We love it for the ciabatta, the Italian peasant bread with a tough crust and an interior that fights back when you bite. But owner Laurie Steed's the real Bay area deal, so Granello's also is the place for sourdough. Then there are the zuccotto, the St. Honore cake, the gianduia, the pear-and-almond frangipani tart, the croissants filled with hazelnut cream, the rum-soaked chocolate cake with chocolate mousse and raspberry marmalade.
